The City of Mumbai , One of the global trading center undergone two types of Urban Building Constructions under its urban planning project in the late 19th century and early 20th century.The types are

1. Victorian Gothic

2. Art Deco

Fact : Victorian Gothic And Art Deco Ensembles Of Mumbai has been added to UNESCO world heritage sites during 42nd Session of world heritage committee geld in Bahrain’s capital Manama.

1.Victorian Gothic

# Victorian Gothic or Victorian Neo Gothic types of constructions consists mainly public buildings bordering the Oval Maidan Open Space.

# These type of constructions belong to late 19th century.

# The Victorian style includes Indian elements suited to the climate, including balconies and verendas.

# Some of the examples are Bombay High Court ,The University Of Mumbai Campus ,The Rajabai Clock Tower etc.

2. Art Deco Style

# Belong to early 2oth century

# The Art Deco edifices with their cinemas and Residential Buildings , blend Indian Design with Art Deco Imagery.This creates a unique style of design called as Indo-Deco.

# This type of building seen in western stretch of Oval maidan Open Space .

# Art Deco consists mainly of private residential buildings and Cinemas .
