The East India Association (EIA)

# The East India Association was founded by Dadabhai Naoroji in 1866 together with some Indians and Retired British officials in London.

# London Indian Society was superseded by East Indian Association.London Indian Society was formed by the inspiration of Dadabhai Naoroji.

# 1st president of the association was Lord Lyveden.

# The association had more than 1000 members but only after 1912 female’s are admitted into it.

# This association discussed matters and ideas about India and supported Indian representations in Government department.

# It also presented information about India to British public through two Journals named
1.Journal of EIA 2.Asiatic Quarterly Review.

# Later,EIA branches opened in many Indian cities.
