Ayushman Bharat Programme , Ayushman Bharat For A New India 2022 -All About

As a part of Ayushman Bharat programme (Ayushman Bharat for a new India 2022) ,Government announced two initiatives to address health in primary,secondary and tertiary care systems which covers both prevention and health promotion.

The two initiatives are

1.National Health Protection Scheme

2.Health And Wellness Centers

 

1.National Health Protection Scheme :

Ayushman Bharat national protection scheme will subsume the ongoing two centrally sponsored scheme 1.Rashtriya swasthya Bima Yojana and 2.Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme.The scheme provide up to 5 lakh Rs per family per year for over 10 crore poor people in secondary and tertiary hospitalization.

Features of National Health Protection Scheme :

# Defined benefit of rs 5 lakh per family per year.

#It cover 10 crore poor people based on Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011.

# Beneficiary covered under scheme will be allowed to take cashless benefits from any public and private enrolled across the country.

#To give directions about this scheme to both at central level and state level,A Ayushman Bharat Health Protection Mission Council at apex level is created and will be chaired by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare.

#States  need to form a State Health Agency to implement this scheme.

Note :

Secondary Care Meaning : Health care services provided by medical specialists.

Tertiary care meaning :Specialists consultative health care for inpatients.

2.Health and Wellness Centers:

# Under this scheme ,about 1.5 lakh centres will be opened which will bring health care system closer to the homes of people.

#These centres will provide comprehensive health care which includes Non-communicable diseases ,maternal and child health services.

#This centres also provide free essential drugs and diagnostic services .

# Contribution of private sector is also envisaged.
